Heartwarming Stories
All in a Name
It was the beginning first day of school and everyone was lining up for the first time. One of the instructional aides found a little girl looking for her place to go. “Do you know your teacher’s name?” asked the aide. “Yes, said the little girl. “It’s Mrs. Smiley Fish”.
Hammered
One day the custodian came to my room and told me that he needed to do a little work next door. He would try not to be too noisy and it would not last long. Soon we hear loud banging coming from the classroom next door. One little boy asked what was going on. I told him that they were doing some hammering next door. He looked up at me sweetly and said, “Are we going to get hammered too?”
Where's the Pepto?
I was beginning my unit on journaling and was having a discussion with the class. I asked if anyone knew what a diary was. One little girl raised her hand and said, “Yep, that’s when you have to run to get to the bathroom!”
Which one?
A kindergarten boy was lost in the hall at school. Another teacher tried to help. “Do you know who your teacher is?” asked the teacher.
“Yes,” said the little boy.
The teacher asked, “Well, which one is it?”
The boy replied, “The nice one.”
Too Much TV
It was one of our first fall days and we were getting ready for recess. One little boy was trying to get his new sweatshirt on. I could see no head or arms poking out, so I asked if he needed help. I whispered because I didn’t want to startle him. In a loud voice he responded, “Can you hear me now?”
Just Like You
One of my kindergarten girls approached a much loved substitute who was walking down the hall. After giving her a hug, the little girl said, “I have nipples—just like you!” The veteran teacher smiled and said, “You do?” The excited little girl eagerly pointed to the indentations in her cheeks and said, “See, just like yours!” To which the teacher said, “My, my, you have DIMPLES—just like me!”
