What do we need for the Winter?
Hats - We MUST have a hat or ear muffs or a hood.
Mittens - We MUST have mittens or gloves.
Boots - When there is snow on the ground, we MUST have boots.
No boots means a child will have to stay on the blacktop.
If there is a lot of snow, no boots means a child will have to stand in a dry spot.
Shoes - We MUST have shoes to put on after boots are taken off.
Socks - It is often a good idea to send along an extra pair of dry socks just in case.
Snow pants - If your child wants to play on hills of snow s/he MUST have snow pants.
On days with lots of snow, no snow pants means staying on the blacktop.
Scarves - Scarves are fine; some tend to be hard for young children handle and some get caught easily on other things and can choke your child—use your best judgment.
Face masks - these are fine as long as they fit your child; make sure he or she can see well and breathe easily.
Please have your child practice putting on and taking off these things. We will try to help them as much as possible at school, but we can not totally dress and undress each student. Now is the time for all children to know how to tie their shoes.
